Chef pan - 4qt
The chef pan is reknowned as the ultimate risotto-making cookware. But thanks to its versatile size and shape, this kitchen workhorse is also optimal for sauteing vegetables, browning then simmering stews, and thickening sauces and soups.
Crafted in clad stainless steel, an innovative material that combines the optimal heat conductivity of an aluminium core with the great ease of use of mirror-polished stainless steel. The first hand-hammered stainless steel cookware, for a beauty that lasts, this Opus Prima Chef pan also features a delicately decorated stainless steel handle, unique serial number, and is crowned with a hand-cast bronze finial in the shape of a cauliflower and carrot that is plated in silver by our partner silversmiths in Milan.
Made in Italy.
This Chef pan is the perfect tool for infinite recipes: sauté vegetables with one hand thanks to the high rounded sides, brown chunks of meat on the wide bottom then cover with the beautiful lid to simmer gently into rich stews, or toss pasta to coat it with its thickened sauce. Practical and versatile, the Chef pan really shines when making risotto: its wide base ensures a steady absorption of broth, so that all flavours are absorbed while water evaporates quickly, and the rounded sides ease stirring and prevent stubborn grains from getting stuck in the corners. Bring to the table covered with its silver-crowned lid for a stunning, effortless presentation from mid-week family meals to special occasion entertaining.
Recommended for use on all stovetops, including induction. Use a burner that is similar in diameter to the cookware, never heat the pot empty and do not exceed 230 C (450 F).
To avoid scratching or dulling the polished surface, do not use knives, sharp kitchen tools, corrosive detergents and metal scouring pads.
The silver-plated finial will naturally tarnish over time: use a silver-polishing cloth to restore its shine, or to polish more thoroughly remove from the lid by twisting the special screw. Always hand-wash the lid as dishwasher use would accelerate the silver tarnishing. The cookware is dishwasher-safe.

Ruffoni cookware has the best cooking pans I have ever used. The food cooks evenly and doesn't stick to the pan. I love this brand because the workmanship is exquisite, the food cooks evenly and the pans clean up very easily. Wonderful, wonderful product.
I was given this brand of pot as a gift first and was floored by its beauty, heft and artisanship. I have used it as though cooking with a museum piece at first but now trust its good looks won't go away with use! I have now slowly bought myself more and will continue to until I have the set. I most always have one that stays on the stove as inspiration.
I purchased the chef's pan because of its appearance. The pan is strikingly attractive however it is also ideal for stove to table serving. Lifting the lid and letting the aroma of the food stir the appetites of our guests always brings smiles to faces. The pan is also well designed functionally. The concave sides make stirring of contents easy with less risk of spill over. The pan is a reasonable weight making it a manageable when it is full. I recommend the pan to others that enjoy the look of the item. The finish work is surely reflected in the price.
